Laser-Assisted Periodontal Therapy

To minimize patient discomfort and maximize treatment effectiveness, our doctors use the LANAP protocol for treating gum disease. The LANAP protocol uses a PerioLase MVP-7 laser to deliver gentle pulses of light energy around the teeth, which kill the damaging bacteria hiding under the gums. Traditional periodontal surgery uses scalpels, which can damage healthy tissue. The LANAP protocol focuses precisely on diseased tissue, leaving healthy tissue unharmed.

Clinical research has shown that LANAP is as effective as traditional gum surgery at controlling periodontal health. In many cases, LANAP can regenerate some of the tissues - including bone - that were lost as a result of gum disease. This regeneration gives the teeth additional support and protection.

Benefits of Laser-Assisted Periodontal Therapy

PRECISION

Our laser meticulously targets and removes harmful bacteria more effectively than traditional treatment methods, without damaging healthy gum tissue.

MINIMAL GUM RECESSION

Recession is often an unavoidable result of traditional surgery because of the use of scalpels. Because this procedure does not cut the gums, there is less risk of recession.

FASTer healing

Since LANAP is minimally invasive, patients are able to recover more quickly.

Reduction in gum inflammation and bleeding

The PerioLase MVP-7 targets inflammatory bacteria without injuring healthy tissue.

SUPERIOR RESULTS

Clinical research has shown that LANAP is as effective as traditional gum surgery at controlling periodontal health. In many cases, LANAP can regenerate some of the tissues - including bone - that were lost as a result of gum disease. This regeneration gives the teeth additional support and protection.

Helps save natural teeth

Patients may be able to keep their natural teeth, even if those teeth have been deemed "hopeless" with traditional therapies.

Less discomfort

Patients report less discomfort during and after LANAP, as opposed to traditional gum surgery.
